Bio
Chris Jackson and Tyler Anderson have been collaborating on songs since they met in high school in 2003. Wandering in and out of several bands, all with unique styles, they are no stranger to songwriting and playing shows. The years of pursuing their dream of playing music are finally paying off, and they’re willing to wager their time in return for your feedback; as criticism has never left these Kentuckians stranded. After all, if you are humming the melody of their single ‘Currents’ (that is currently no pun intended on local WFPK radio Louisville rotation) then they have already grown to recognize a trend. To the founders of A Lion Named Roar, they understand how easy it is to fail at an attempt to be clever (their project name) and get lost behind the vast talent their town has to offer. However, a strong melody and relatable lyrics were the two components they focused on while writing and recording in Nashville, TN with a close friend/engineer/producer in Jeremy Brown. Their songs layout the framework for what pop/folk could sound like, all the while never disappointing the average listener of country music.
On their debut release of “Said & Done” it would prove difficult to pin them into a single genre, as the album is mended together well enough to make you think they have branded their style. With their record perched at the top of best-sellers at local record store giant Ear X-tacy, Louisville is quickly turning their attention to the half-witted humor and chic style of this talented duo.
